Understand the entity

Context and role

Translocation Science is a Necron Stratagem, described as an unlockable ability for rapid battlefield relocation. When activated, it can teleport a limited group of as many as five units from anywhere on the battlefield to another visible part of the map. That establishes the unit limit, broad origin rule and destination requirement, but not a complete activation model. The source does not publish its unlock condition, resource cost, cooldown, cast time, eligible-unit list, formation behaviour, arrival delay, interruption rule or whether the destination must lie on the Power Matrix.

02
What is established

History and changes

Translocation Science appears within the Necron design solution for an army whose ordinary movement is comparatively slow. The faction preview presents several distinct relocation tools for changing battlefronts: Tomb Pylons, the Monolith and this Stratagem. Its special identity is moving a bounded group directly between battlefield locations while requiring visibility at the destination. This is current design context, not balance history. No prototype, former unit limit, revised visibility rule, changed cost, patch sequence, version comparison or earlier-game implementation is documented.

03
Apply the knowledge

Practical use

The documented operation is precise at a high level: activate Translocation Science to move no more than five units from their current battlefield location to another part of the map that is visible. The visibility condition and group limit are the only published planning constraints. The article does not identify a preferred destination, unit mix, objective, Commander pairing or follow-up attack. It also gives no cooldown or opportunity cost. Useful guidance can therefore frame relocation around a confirmed visible endpoint without inventing a timing window, transport chain or optimal strike force.
