Skitarii Rangers

Skitarii Rangers are Adeptus Mechanicus ranged units presented as the firepower half of a documented combined-arms pairing. Ruststalkers draw enemies into close quarters and hold their attention, allowing Rangers to unleash powerful fire from a relatively safe distance. That establishes ranged support, one named partner and the intended division of labour. The sources do not publish a weapon, cost, squad size, armour, range value, production structure, ability, firing mode, upgrade, target class or whether the phrase relatively safe implies protection from every enemy response.

Skitarii Rangers help express the Adeptus Mechanicus design focus on nimble long-ranged combat rather than Ork-like melee pressure. The faction preview uses Rangers and Ruststalkers to demonstrate how close-combat units can create opportunities for the stronger ranged side of the roster. This is announced synergy and faction identity, not evidence of an individual balance change. No prior Ranger implementation, revised weapon, altered range, removed ability, upgrade path, patch history, version comparison or chronological tuning decision is documented in the qualified pages.

The documented combination is explicit: let Ruststalkers force a close-quarters engagement, then use Skitarii Rangers to apply powerful fire from relative safety while enemy attention is occupied. That supports a broad front-and-support arrangement but not a fixed formation. The preview does not say how far back Rangers should stand, which target to select, how long the opening lasts or what weapon they carry. No production timing, upgrade, Commander pairing or retreat sequence is published. Guidance should preserve the named synergy without turning it into a solved rotation.
