The role, in context
The Blood Ravens Story Prologue is the first of two paid expansions announced for the year after launch. Its stated subject is the run-up to the campaign: the Blood Ravens, described as bruised and battered, making for Kronus in the hope of rebuilding their ranks from their old Recruiting World. Alongside that, the announcement adds a thread the campaign itself does not cover — a separate strike force of the same Chapter travelling to Aurelia with plans of its own. It is announced as sold separately and as included in the Commander Edition. No window, mission count or price has been published for it.
What is documented over time
The expansion enters the published record in the article that set out the release plans and the year of content to follow, and nothing has been added to it since. That article gives its subject, its opening situation and its place as the first of the two premium additions, and it is also where Aurelia is named for the first and so far only time. Nothing published afterwards has attached a date, a length, a playable faction or a mission to it. What exists is therefore a single announcement rather than a development history, and saying so is more useful than filling the gap.
How it is presented in play
Read this expansion as background to the campaign rather than as an addition after it. The situation it describes — a depleted Chapter travelling to an old recruiting world — is the same one the campaign opens on, so it fills in why the Blood Ravens are at Kronus at all rather than adding a later chapter to the story. The Aurelia thread is the part that goes somewhere new, and it is the only published reason that world has a page on this site at all. For anyone weighing the Commander Edition, it is one of the two paid items bundled into it, and it is also announced as available on its own.
What you can — and cannot — conclude
The temptation is to fill in the shape of the expansion from the shape of the campaign — a mission count, a playable faction, a place in the timeline. None of that has been published. What exists is a paragraph: who is travelling, where, in what condition, and that a second force is bound for Aurelia. The Aurelia thread invites invention in particular, because a named world in this setting carries a great deal of history that has nothing to do with what was announced here. Anything said about it beyond a destination and an intention would be imported from elsewhere.
